Slovenia General

Slovenia is a country in southern Europe on the Adriatic Sea. It borders Italy, Austria, Croatia and Bosnia Herzegovinia. It is mountainous and hilly with lowlands on the coast and in the Sava and Drava river valleys.
The climate is generally continental, but Mediterranean nearer the coast.
Diary farming, mercury mining, light manufacturing and tourism are the main activities.
The about 2.000.000 Slovenians live in an area of about 21.000 square kilometers. Languages spoken are Slovene and Serbo-Croate; only a few have a working knowledge of English.
The capital of Slovenia is Ljubljana.
