Azerbaijan General

Azerbaijan is a country in south-eastern Europe on the Caspian Sea. Its region of Nakhichevan is separated from the rest of the country by part of Armenia.
It is mountainous in the northeast and west, it has valleys in the center and the coastal plains.
Oil production - onshore and offshore - is the main industry and the basis for heavy industries.
The population of about 7.600.000 live in an area of about 87.000 square kilometers. Languages spoken are Azeri, Armenian, Russian and Lezgian.
The capital of Azerbaijan is Baku.
