Armenia General

Armenia is a landlocked country in southeast Europe and it borders Georgia, Azerbaijan, Iran and Turkey.
It is mountainous, with a central plateau-basin and dry warm summers and cold winters. One third of the population lives in Yerevan.
Manufacturing and mining are the main activities. Agriculture produces mostly grapes, vegetables, wheat and tobacco.
The population of about 3.900.000 Armenians live in an area of about 30.000 square kilometers. Languages spoken are Armenian and Russian. Also English and other European languages are spoken in tourist areas.
The capital of Armenia is Yerevan.
